Kokomo-Howard County Public Library offers unique activities in October

The Kokomo Howard County Public Library is known for hosting family-friendly, educational, creative, and fun events throughout the year. This month, there are dozens of activities for kids, teens, and adults to do that allow them to have fun while also learn something new. Several of their events are held at the different library branches, and most of them are free, which is the best part!

The Russiaville Branch is bringing back a fun fall tradition in October with their Fall Straw Maze. Little fall enthusiasts are invited to stroll through the festive maze this month from 9 a.m.-8 p.m. for free! It is now available until Oct. 31.

Have you ever wanted to explore your family’s roots? Join the Main Branch for Genealogy for Night Owls-Family History Lock-In on Oct. 17, where you can dig deep into your family’s history after-hours!

Finally, are you looking for something to do with the family during Fall Break? The Main Branch delivers! From Oct. 20-24, the branch will be hosting fun workshops and activities for kids of all ages! The lineup includes a spooky science workshop called “FrankenSTEM” (Oct. 20), pumpkin painting (Oct. 21), Craftapalooza (Oct. 22), Falling for Crafts workshop (Oct. 23), and fun with Legos (Oct. 24). The Russiaville Branch will wrap up the week with a scarecrow workshop inspired by The Little Old Lady Who Wasn’t Afraid of Anything on Oct. 25.
